Luis Jacob
|
Luis was born in Peru in 1971. He currently lives and works in Toronto.
Luis studied philosophy at the University of Toronto. Evolving his study through his art practice, he utilizes a conceptual hybrid of finding, collecting, and arranging images to form questions about existence, perspective, and social theory. Creating discrete works, image banks, multiples, and installations, his project is imbued with a deep sense of humor and compassion for humankind. Jacob's optimistic expressions delineate the multiplicity of philosophical discourses, encouraging an anarchistic space in which to contemplate the history of Western culture.
