Jim Hansen

Jim was born in Warren, Ohio, in 1939. After service in the United States Army Medical Corps from 1962-65, he graduated from Kent State University, Ohio, in 1969, with a major in studio arts and a double minor in biology and chemistry.

He moved to Newfoundland in 1970 and became senior technician at the School of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Jim has exhibited across Canada and the United States and has had his films shown in Brussels. In addition to being part of the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Permanent Collection, his art work can be found in major public collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the Canada Council Art Bank and the Museum of Modern Art.
