Therese Bolliger

Therese Bolliger was born in Switzerland, where she studied at the Schools of visual Art in Basel and Berne before moving to Canada. She currently resides in Toronto. She has taught in the Visual Arts Department of the University of Guelph and at the Ontario College of Art and Design. Between 1983 and 2008 she was a faculty member in the Art and Art History Program, a collaborative program between the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and the University of Toronto Mississauga.

Exhibitions of her work include Diagnosis, Gallery Stratford, (2003); ellipsis, The Koffler Gallery, Toronto and Harnett Gallery, University of Rochester, (1999); The Word in Contemporary Canadian Art, Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, Toronto, (1999); Cutting Edge, ARCO, Madrid, (1998, 1997); and Volatile Body/Volatile Language, Cold City Gallery, Toronto, (1998).

Her work is included in the collections of the Government of Ontario, Hart House at the University of Toronto, Kamloops art Gallery, University of Lethbridge, St Michaelás College at the University of Toronto, and Oakville Galleries.

Therese is the recipient of both Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council Awards.
