Landon Mackenzie

Landon Mackenzie was born in Boston, Massachussets, USA in 1954. She currently lives and works in Vancouver.

Landon Mackenzie has been a practicing artist for over thirty years. Starting as a student at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1972, she has built an impressive body of work and is probably best known for her large-format mapping paintings. The National Gallery of Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal [among others] have all collected her work. She received her Masters of Fine Arts from Concordia University in Montreal, where she also began her teaching career. She has received numerous awards and grants and is an active painter and educator within the Canadian art community.

Landon Mackenzie has been on the faculty of the Emily Carr Institute of Art, Design + Media in Vancouver, since 1986.
