Winnipeg (Manitoba)
Christine Kirouac is a Winnipeg-based artist/writer whose interdisciplinary projects are a melancholic “play” with how we
all negotiate for (dis)placement, (non)acceptance and
belonging. Fearlessly making work through a lens of personal intimacy, she draws audiences in using humor, the recognizable, unceremonious and the uncomfortable. Her skills include university studio professor and the Owner/Director/Curator of three American art fairs out of Chicago IL from 2013 -2015. She has participated in multiple residencies at the Banff Centre,
Vermont Studio Centre and received grants from Winnipeg & Manitoba Arts Councils, Canada Council, National Film Board and National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation.
National and International exhibitions include Winnipeg Art Gallery, Museum London ON, Lisbon International Film Festival, Belfast NI Billboard Project, Toronto Ireland Park Foundation, 4th
Cairo International Video Festival, Global House Gwang Ju South Korea, Heritage International Conference and Film Program; Berlin, Chicago Underground Film Festival, 5th Exposition L’ Art
Video et Multimedia Marseille France, Asheville Art Museum NC New Media Wing inaugural exhibition and solo shows at Maison Des Artistes Francophones and South-Eastern Center of
Contemporary Art SECCA NC in 2019.
Le projet d’artistes de Winnipeg du CACC a été réalisé grâce au soutien généreux de la Winnipeg Foundation.
