1941       Born Wakaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
1958       Government of Saskatchewan University Entrance Scholarship\enrolled at the University
              of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon.
1963       Bachelor of Arts (Biology) and Bachelor of Education (Biology). Degrees from the
              University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
1963       Commenced exploration of Constructed Relief as a means of art expression.
1963-68  Biology instructor in senior high schools in Brandon, Manitoba and Edmonton, Alberta.
1965       Visited Charles Biederman's studio in Red Wing, Minnesota.
1965       Travelled to Chicago to meet with the Director of the Kazimir Gallery.
1968       University of Alberta. Received University of Alberta Undergraduate Scholarship.
              Prize for the submission of `Relief 1968' to the Winnipeg Biennial Exhibition.
              Included in "Seventh Biennial of Canadian Art" at the National Gallery, Ottawa.
1969       International exhibition " Relief/Construction/Relief" organized by Jan Van der Marck for
              the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago which also travels to the Herron Museum in
              Indianapolis, the Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills, and the High Museum in
              Atlanta.
1969       Qualified for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alberta.
1969       Canada Council Arts Bursary in support of research into the 'relief' idiom.

1963-83  " encompassing twenty years of relief making (major financial support provided through
              the University of Calgary Special Projects Awards Office).
1983       Exhibited fifteen reliefs documenting twenty years of involvement with the Constructed
              relief at The Nickle Museum, Calgary, Alberta; Dunlop Art Gallery, Regina, Saskatchewan
              and The Medicine Hat Art Gallery, Medicine Hat, Alberta.
1984       Appointed Full Professor in the Department of Art, University of Calgary. Banff Center
              "Artist In Residence In Schools" program creating a large mural with students at
              F.E. Osborne School.
1984       Travelled to South Seas to research coral reef in preparation for `Encrustation' relief
              series.
1985       Initiated 'ocean wave' series incorporating curvilinear shapes for first time.
1985       Created relief mural triptych for E. Silverman on 'night sky' theme.
1985       Staged exhibition of twelve recent reliefs at Petro Canada Gallery, Calgary.
1986       University of Calgary Research Grant to research the work of Cesar Domela and
              Jean Gorin, two pioneers of the "Geometric Constructed Relief."
1986       Met Cesar Domela in his studio in Paris. Travelled to England and France visiting artists'
              studios as well as to photograph drawings of Cro-Magnon man in the caves of Lascaux
              and Dordogne country, France.
1987       University of Calgary Research Grant to research work of Charles Biederman, American
              artist and theorist.
1987       Visits Biederman's studio for the second time. University of Calgary Research Grant to
              produce a video on working methodology governing constructive art.
1987       University of Calgary grant to prepare and tour an exhibition of 20 "working drawings for
              relief constructions."
1988       University of Calgary grant to research the work of artists working in a geometric 3D
              relief fashion.
1988       Commission from Amoco to create a mural for lobby of Amoco Canada Ltd., Calgary.
1988       Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Grant to research and document the
              work of Polish Constructivist artists.
1988       Travelled to Warsaw, Lodz, Cracow, Wroclaw to interview artists.
1989       Received a grant from the Department of Culture, Government of Alberta to stage an
              exhibition of work in Nurenburg, West Germany.
1989       Received a Conference Grant from the University of Calgary to present a paper on
              "Neo-Constructions," in Nurenburg, West Germany.
1989       Commissioned by Olympic and York Development to create sculpture for lobby of
              building in Calgary. Free standing construction `Memories' created for second floor
              lobby.- Travelled to Warsaw, Poland and St. Petersburg, Russia.
1989       Visited Cesar Domela for a second time in Paris.
1990       Received Special Projects Grant from U. of C. to organize an exhibition of Polish Art.
1990       Received approval for a sculpture commission from the Department of External Affairs,
              Government of Canada to produce a sculpture in three parts for the Canadian Embassy
              Building in Algiers, Algeria.
1991       Received a research grant from U. of C. to research work of Spanish Constructivists.
              Travelled to Madrid, Toledo and Lisbon to interview artists.
1991       Produced a sculpture commission 8'x22' for the entrance lobby of the Clareview
              Recreation Complex, City of Edmonton.
