Mobile Narratives : Temporary Occupations
Social Sculpture

65 - Various Locations - Dundas Street West & Spadina
(The project moves through the southern half of Zone B through out the night.
It will make 8 stops, for about 1.5 hours each, starting in Old China Town
(near city hall), looping around Bathurst, Bloor, Jarvis and Dundas.),

Mobile Narratives is a story telling, spontaneously unfolding table/gathering space on wheels. The bike powered cookie baking cart weaves through the 'post-industrial' city, temporary occupying spaces like the precarious migrant workers of typified global metropolis.

Taking stories from migrant workers in Shanghai, the project explores the question of the global 'we' in the productive relations of space and political-economy, creating a momentary link through an exchange of the multi-narratives of everyday life, and enabling path through the disabling spaces of enclosure. The stories of immigrant Toronto can intersect with the stories of migration and survival of another city in the process of urban-geographical restructuring.

Everybody is invited to stop by, share a story, leave a note or a sketch, enjoy a cookie and drive the human-powered oven.
