A complete change of form, structure, or substance, as transformation by magic or witchcraft.

Scotiabank Nuit Blanche participants will be transformed into an orb of radiant light representing their own bodies and movements on a screen through the gallery storefront window.

Using an X-box Kinect system with some original programming in MAX MSP JITTER, the glowing orbs will mirror the movements of the participants in real space on a screen. The moving orbs attract a swarm of digitally rendered moths that follow and circle the light orbs as they move, creating the illusion that the participants are dancing or interacting with the moths.

This project plays with the division between the real and the digital and draws a connection between the human experience and other nocturnal organisms or 'nightlife' in the urban environment.
