Occupation of VAG. Between 1,200 and 1,600 unemployed single men take over and occupy the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Post Office and the Hotel Georgia in protest. At 5:45 a.m. on June 19 the demonstrators are "ejected" from the gallery by police using tear-gas bombs. There is no personal injury or damage to the building or its contents.
