Jack Shadbolt. In this body of work done primarily in 1970, Shadbolt presents two main ideas: the fetish figures and the miracle of the birds. The show comprises 13 works in the Fetish series (masked and magical figures), and two large bird triptychs which have the formal qualities of religious paintings. (Other artists exhibiting during 1970 are Maxwell Bates, Roy K. Kiyooka, Toni Onley and Jack Wise.)
