The Keenlyside Gallery opens on Granville St. One of its first exhibitions is of works by Emily Carr: 27 paintings from the Fannin Hall collection, owned by industrialist George E. Clark and valued at $1.3 million, are up for sale. The B.C. government offers to buy 19 of the 27 paintings for $1 million, but the offer is rejected.
