The Morris/Trasov Archive
The Morris/Trasov Archive is housed in The Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. It is an extensive collection related to the art practices of Michael Morris and Vincent Trasov predominantly from 1969-74, consisting of mail art, documents and ephemera related to Mr. Peanut, Colour Bars, Babyland, Art's Birthday, Decca Dance, Robert Filliou, Ray Johnson, Image Bank, Fluxus, and General Idea.
The Belkin Gallery houses several archival collections complementing its collections of art and providing a resource for exhibitions, teaching and learning, and scholarly research. Related especially to contemporary art since the sixties, the archives include the papers of artists, art historians and collectors, and contain material in multiple media (textual, graphic, moving image and sound), with a strong thematic focus on conceptual art, concrete poetry, mail art, performance art, social art history and cultural history.
The CCCA, in collaboration with Michael Morris and Vincent Trasov, is presenting a cross-section of images from The Morris/Trasov Archive.
