THE WINNIPEG EFFECT <SITE> Gallery [1995-2005] 55 Arthur Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba Established in 1995, <SITE> Gallery was located in the Historic Exchange District of downtown Winnipeg. <SITE> had three exhibition spaces covering over 6000 square feet on the second floor of a Heritage warehouse building at 55 Arthur Street. <SITE> was a commercial gallery run cooperatively by its member artists. Gallery maintained a membership of around 30 artists during most of its life. Over the years the gallery represented more than 70 of Manitoba's most celebrated visual artists working in diverse styles in painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, photography, printmaking, furniture, video, installation and digital media. On December 31, 2005 <SITE> Gallery permanently closed its doors. After ten good, long years, a successful cooperative venture had run its course.
