The Winnipeg Art Gallery, November 3-5, 2016 ![]() Symposium Brochure cover Suzanne Gilles & Douglas Sigurdson, c.1980 Photo: Sheila Spence The Winnipeg Effect Project The Centre for Contemporary Canadian Art celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a Symposium entitled: "The Winnipeg Effect: Should I Stay or Should I Go?", hosted by The Winnipeg Art Gallery, November 3-5, 2016. The Symposium served as the culmination of the Winnipeg Effect Project, a broad initiative by the CCCA to document the Winnipeg art scene over the 50-year period from 1967-2017, with the goal of increasing knowledge about Winnipeg art institutions, artists and art writers, and to examine the effect that Winnipeg's art scene has had on the art scene across Canada.
